Prisoner on the Palm
A little while ago I spoke about the terrorist threat on my neighbourhood due to the scheduled opening of Atlantis Hotel. The opening features a private concert by Kylie, which, according to 'British spies' has caused terrorists to make the hotel a target.
Well, this Thursday is the opening day and not only will my house be blown up, but apparently now I'll have no way of getting off the Palm should something indeed occur.
Let me explain; the genius property developers that are Nakheel have decided to make occupants of the Palm Jumeirah prisoners of their homes. A nice letter arrived on Saturday outlining that all residents were advised to be in their homes before 4PM on Thursday to 'avoid congestion and possible diversion.'
It goes on to say that unless you have with you a special pass that will only be distributed 48 hours prior to the opening, you won't be granted access to your home. Fun.
Can you image if Sydney council shut down the whole of Bondi because Icebergs wanted to have an exclusive launch party? Uproar..... but then again.... they did pretty much shut down Sydney city for Bush.....

What is going on in your kneck of the woods Flano? Are you in lock down?
We also get locked in for City to Surf (that's if you're not participating) and NYE feels like a bloody lockout at times as well!
