Surprisingly there weren't too many people at the Taste, an event similar to this would have had Sydneysiders flocking to it back home. Possibly something to blame on the weather (it was a fairly cold evening) or maybe that Emiratians just aren't that fussed on 'sampling' cuisine and would prefer a sit down meal.
I did make one purchase last night, a bottle of Chilean Carica,
a rare fruit from a semi desert area in the North of Chile, called Limarí Valley. While it looks a little like a pickled chilli, it has a really sweet taste, kind of like pineapple... or lychee.... i can't wait to try it out on icecream.... YUM!
One thing that i keep almost falling over by is the number of big expensive cars here! I can't count how many Hummers i have seen around, not to mention Cadillacs, SUV's and Range Rovers... Yesterday i walked out the mall of Emirates and there had to have been six Hummers just in valet!
